A meeting did not work out. Seized the time on Kottbusser Tor and sat in a Café overlooking the 70ies architecture – the gate to Oranienstr. and did DN. Waited idling for 10min before a table got freed.

Other people procrastinate (also an artform of DN, if done properly) and I do DN – which seems a lot less productive, because in procrastination you DO things instead of important tasks. Here in DN we do nothing instead of unimportant or important tasks. Task-free time. Not even washing the dog…

That I have cops in my head which I need to mitigate or control. A mural (actually a bad one) reminded me of this fact. We all have our control systems and they talk to us and make us stay in some comfortable and favourable limits – for them. They want us safe and not breaking the law. If you get rid of those, it might be more dangerous, but a lot more relaxing. Those two next to the censor, the judge of things, the two serious cops with mirrorglasses intimidating a flourishing personality. Can I keep them at bay if I simply ignore them and do nothing (what they say?) 😉

Quite good. A Monday which felt a bit like Sunday. The DN was again a bit random, but good. The focus is better when it is planned. But it worked, still and it was in a different surrounding. Never sat there outside, so alone the place was a good choice – and I am several years frequenting this place now, but usually walking by 😉

[collapse title=”Before/While/After”]
BEFORE: Working and stressing a bit. Actually happy because some things seem to work out. Later it turned out it was not the case, so I got a little grumpy but filled it with DN.

WHILE: Changing of lights is such delight. Looking longer than usual at facades and windows. What do all these people want and do with their lives? I need to find a backdoor to society. Do something for them. Bring them DN.

AFTER: Ok. Not particularly better. Like after work 😉

[collapse title=”Notes”]
The gaze / not the details, the whole scene / open up your range 180 degree around you, catch all of whats going on in a moment / not just the particular things / in sound and vision / a vision / nothing, because nothing arrived and nobody waited / the world, have the world in mind, when you look, hear, breathe, have the universe in mind, feel the universe rocketing around you / a slightly moving window, reflecting the sun which shines 150 Mio. kilometers away, into my face / the sun speeding away from other
galaxies / “there are a cops in ours (brains), kill them” (Graffiti seen at Kotti) /

Sitting on a bench in the park, opening all my senses for the colours, odours, sounds of the surrounding. While watching my thoughts coming and going like the waves on the ocean I try to calm them more and more…
No

[collapse title=”Did you learn something new about doing nothing?”]
As long as the thought-apparatus is hyperactive it is difficult for me to find the clutch to shift into the neutral gear..
[/collapse]
[collapse title=”Did you learn anything new about yourself?”]
In opposite to my mental self-image it looks like i`m addicted to doing doing doing… Maybe I have to become more creative in order to fulfill my Non Doing Project….

[collapse title=”How did you feel about this experiment today?”]
Time is fleeting very fast – but during doing nothing it feels like time stands still and I am standing in the center of a cyclon.. I calm down and relax my mind, my muscles, my inner conversation… I become totally present..
